About Us
Mr Nield is What Gentlemen Wear. The brand was created to bring back the lost art of 'being a gentleman'.
George Nield, the founder, is a business entrepreneur, content creator and international rugby player. Throughout his life experiences, he has developed a love for what it means to be a gentleman.
From a young age, being half English, George got to experience his traditional English side through his father and grandparents. George was brought up learning important ways of being a young gentleman. This included; table manners, language, how to dress and general behaviour. George's father wasn't always present growing up so George naturally took on the role as 'man of the house', being the father figure for his younger brother James.
When his father would visit, the fashion was noticeably different to the typical Australian clothing. A button up shirt tucked into pleated trousers with a leather belt and duffle bag, not forgetting his leather boots that which were the only shoes he was seen wearing from George's memory. The boots were worn but looked after; with the soles of the boots being replaced when needed.
In addition to this, George went to a very traditional and history-rich High School which took pride in developing young men. The school required uniform to be worn with pride; akubra hat, button up shirt which was tucked into dress pants and belt, with polished black shoes and pulled up socks. Every week the boys would wear cadet uniform, learn to march and attend memorials in memory of the 'old boys' that went to war. George took pride in this as he is also part of a military family; named after his great grandfather who fought in The World War, His father who was in the British Army, his Lolo (Filipino Grandfather) a Colonel in the Filipino Army and his Uncle in the American Airforce.
Over the recent year, George really found his passion with the gentlemen lifestyle and the meaning behind it; influenced by his life experiences.
Mr.Nield isn't just a clothing and accessory brand, it's a representation of a certain lifestyle, Being a gentleman.
George believes being a gentlemen is a lost art, continuously being pushed away and forgotten from today's convenience and technology.
Hand written letters, candle lit dinners, going for a dance, respectful manners and language, the way you present yourself, the way you care for others, dining etiquette, the list goes on. It's an art, a lifestyle that George aspires to not only live but express to others how extraordinary life can be with it.
When you see Mr.Nield, you see a Gentleman.
